Details of Achievements :
Major Activities/Achievements : The Institute for Narcotics Studies and Analysis undertakes studies of all matters relating to illicit drugs and psychotropic substances, including (i) the demand and supply of such substances, and (ii present global , regional/sub-regional and national regulatory and control mechanisms and to what extent these have been successful. It also undertakes surveys of drug sensitive areas where illicit cultivation of drugs is prevalent and acts as a watch-dog for the governments to take suitable steps. Furthermore, it looks into the extent of drug abuse in different populatopns and makes suitable measures for raising awareness amongst populations as also preventive, treatment and rehabilitation policies that the governments need to develop to effectively deal with the problem of drug trafficking and drug abuse.
