Details of Achievements :

Construction Industry Development Council : Clarity of purpose and intent forms the mandate of CIDC. Since its inception in 1996, the Council has taken several initiatives for the development of the industry. Few are given below: Business match making by facilitating interactive sessions between interested focus groups through events / exhibitions / conferences / seminars / workshops / meetings / web dialogues / video conferences / teleconferences / correspondence and communications. Facilitating Indian Construction Entities to explore global markets and build capacities by empowering them with global best practices, tools, technologies and information to leverage their competencies and potential in the international marketplace. Help the industry move from the current state of rule-bound, lowest-price-based contracting to a more quality-conscious, time-bound & technology-driven one. Interaction with international organizations to upgrade technology. Advice the Government on policy formulation related to construction industry. Help evolve policies for financing. Training manpower at skilled worker level and construction management level. Devise mechanisms for welfare of workers. Grading of construction entities. Standardization of construction contracts and procedures. Create an environment that ensures equality of opportunity for all Indian contractors. Dispute Resolution in Construction Contracts. Establishing construction equipment bank. The objectives and activities of the common platform of CIDC is to deliberate on, evolve, develop and implement all initiatives needed for development and growth of Indian Construction Industry in its activities in India and abroad.
