Major Activities/Achievements : The International Academy of Environmental Sanitation and Public Health promoting sustainable sanitation to millions of low income dwellers and the vulnerable, alleviating water resources through conservation and wastewater treatment and providing solutions for developing appropriate environmental sanitation among developing nations are the highest priorities. The Academy was registered in 1993 under Societies Registration Act XXI of 1860. It has permanent registration under Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) and also registered under ISO-9001-2008 for the Quality Management System for providing Low Cost Sanitation, House-Keeping & Construction services. The International Academy of Environmental Sanitation and Public Health (IAES&PH) is engaged in the development of: new and sustainable technologies and their implementation, demonstration and dissemination of information to bring socio-economic reforms, capacity building and knowledge management in environmental sanitation, promotion of projects and consultancy services in the fields of environment, water conservation and wastewater treatment, sewerage, storm water drainage, safe sanitation and waste management, etc. Providing housekeeping services for office building, road, housing colonies etc. The Academy is dedicated to promote PEACE to the developing world by enriching: Poverty Alleviation; Environmental Sanitation; Awareness; Children Rights; and Education for All. Academy has a well equipped laboratory approved by Delhi Pollution Control Committee, for issuing test certificates of industrial effluents. It is manned by a team of experienced scientists and engineers. Tests for almost all the parameters related to physico-chemical, bacteriological, biological and toxicological, required for industrial effluents, domestic sewage and water supply are carried out in the laboratory. The Academy has a well established infrastructure to provide training and demonstration on sanitation and related fields. It has a set of different models (of varying costs) of household toilets and other technologies like biogas from human wastes, effective and sustainable treatment of biogas plant effluent, composting technology, waste water treatment through duckweed etc. There are almost regular visits of people for on -site training/demonstration purposes of these technologies. Students from several Indian as well as foreign universities come to Academy, where the Academy provides such training to their requirements. Sulabh Academy has been working closely with UN-HABITAT for the last 35 years and has made significant contribution to bridge the sanitation gap. The Academy has been working in South Asia and Africa and has sent its experts to several countries as part of UN-HABITAT Missions. SIAES&PH has carried out significant researches and consultancy projects on sustainable technologies like biogas plants, duckweed ponds, materials and designs of pans and traps of toilets, waste water treatment (including Decentralized System), solid waste management, bio-medical waste management, design of water supply, sewerage and storm water drainage and rain water harvesting (in alliance with International Rainwater Harvesting Alliance, Switzerland) etc. It conducted training programme for capacity building on Sanitation for 13 African countries at Delhi, for Country of Ethiopia at Addis Ababa and for Country of Bangladesh at Dhaka.
