Major Activities/Achievements : Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association is non-political, non-profit making, non-sectarian, humanitarian organisation based on Buddhist philosophy. The Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association is committed to work for the well being of all sentient beings and for promotion Compassion, Friendship, Peace, Culture, Education and in the field of socio- ecological balance systems. The Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association has 15 branches spread over Himalayan region and other parts of country. Today the Himalayan Buddhist Cultural Association to its credit is running 12 schools in different parts of Himalayan region from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh. These schools are providing education to economically weaker students from far border areas. It has organized a number of programs at National level time to time. It has been working on important issue of inclusion of Bhoti language in the eight schedule of Constitution of India. Presentaly it is working for establishment of an institute on Himalayan culture at Delhi. Recognition of Sowa Rigpa (Science of Healing) medical system and celebration of 2550th Buddha Jayanti/ Mahaparinirvana in 2006-08 on an international scale with Ministry of Culture.
