Major Activities/Achievements of Him Mansarovar Development Society • Swajal Uttarakhand HMD as a resource organization for bringing about the sect-oral reforms in the Rural Water Supply and Sanitation Sector. Him Mansarovar Development Society shall also act to help implementing the Swajaldhara Programme, Total Sanitation Campaign launched by the Government of India or any other such projects of Government of India/Government of Uttarakhand. In association with Samar foundation Trust o Bio-village projects implemented in Radha, Muruh, and jalla villages of JharkhandCraft Development Center implemented in Dhanbad jharkhand Main streaming of out of school children implemented in Bokaro in JhakhandAIDS awareness programme for targeted intervention has been implemented at bokaro Jharkhand. School AIDS awareness programme has been implemented more than 300 schools at bokaro and Dhanbad districts of Jharkhand o Rural tourism project at Adikailash , Padampuri, Nanakmatta, Triyuginarayan, Sari, Deweriatal, Koti, Indrouli and Pasture is being implemented in Uttrakhand. o Rural tourism projects at Roung, Timchum,and chungbung is being implemented in Sikkim o Modernization of Madersha education is being implement in Delhi, MP,UP and Bihar o “Hunar” projects is being implemented at Delhi o Rural tourism projects at Orcha, Ottawa and Shivpuri is being implemented at Madhaya Pradesh Uttarakhand Sewa Nidhi HMD provided training programmes, did discussion meetings, supplied teaching/learning materials, village and school visit for on-the-spot guidance and problem solving, honoraria of pre-school teachers, and small project grants. The aim of these activities is to help people understand their surroundings from a broad ecological point of view and encourage them to organise themselves to deal with environmental problems that affect their daily lives, and to provide training in technical know-how and practical skills in rural villages and schools. Mahila Kalyan Nideshalya Women Welfare HMD was maintaining 05 Training -cum-Production Centre and 2 Typewriting Institution. Various Income Generation Activities are provided to around 225 unemployed girls. Welfare of aged and Infirm HMD was maintaining one (1) Old Age Home with 50 beds capacity. • Cultural Directorate o Preserved, innovated and promoted the projection and dissemination of the arts of the Zone comprising Uttarakhand and Delhi falling under the broad disciplines of Sangeet, Natak, Lalit Kala and Sahitya. o Developed and promoted the rich diversity and uniqueness of various arts of the Zone and to upgrade and enrich consciousness of the people about their cultural heritage. o Laid special emphasis in activities on the linkages among various arts through evolution of styles and their contribution to the larger composite identity of cultural heritage of Uttarakhand and Delhi. o Made special efforts to encourage folk and tribal arts and framed special programmes for the preservation and strengthening of the vanishing art forms in Uttarakhand. o Frame such programmes as would encourage and involve the youth of the rest of the country in creative cultural communications through the process of Seminars, Exchange of views and Workshops.
