Creative Action for Rural Development : CARD at a glance Infrastructure Well versed with a team of professionally qualified subject matter specialist for providing Watershed Development Training and community mobilization work. Fully equipped with Audio Visual aids, Computers, Video Cameras, and LCD Projector etc. Well prepared training Materials for Watershed Development and Management Trainings like Power Point Presentation, Training manual and hand outs etc. Experiences Community Mobilizations Process Awareness regarding Watershed Development projects in the project area. Participatory Rural appraisal ( PRA) exercise with community participation to evaluate the aims and objectives for the conservation of existing natural resources in the watershed area through survey and identified challenges. Formation of Maps and Pie Charts of Watershed Areas. Formation of Self Help Group (SHG) and Users Group (UG) for Watershed works at Village level. Formation of Community Based organizations (CBOs) i.e. Watershed association (WA) and Watershed Committees (WC) for execution of Watershed Development works. Trainings Training to watershed development team (WDT) for gearing up the project. Training for Waste land Improvement treatment and development, Nursery Raising, Animal husbandry, Soil and Water Conservations, Horticulture, Organic Farming, Sericulture, Vermiculture, Bio-gas, Forestry etc. for opening up alternative rural livelihood system. Training for Project awareness, improving village ecological systems, motivation and works, women empowerment, environment conservation, wasteland management and natural disasters and calamities. Training for creation and maintenance of watershed development fund. Training for record keeping and accounts. Training of SHGs and UGs for Income Generating Activities like Computer Hardware Maintenance, Computer Software, Beauty parlor, Cutting and Tailoring, Jam or Juice Making, Angoora Rabbit Rearing etc. Projects undertaken EAS Watershed Project Pithoragarh The society has implemented EAS Watershed project in District Pithoragarh through community participation in a total area of 18200 ha. DPAP Pithoragarh The DRDA Pithoragarh has nominated the Society as PIA for Drought Prone Area Programme (DPAP) Training. The subject matter experts and the professionals of the Society have handled these trainings with the help of local administration and line department very successfully. IWDP The Society has been nominated as PIA by Zila Parishad and DRDA for the implementation of a Integrated Wasteland Development Project (IWDP) for MUNAKOT Block in District Pithoragarh for the leftover area by other NGO. DPIP Rajasthan The Society has been nominated as PIA and facilitator for District Poverty Initiation Programme DPIP in Rajgarh Block of District Churu in Rajasthan. The implementation of the project is through community participation, capacity building, awareness and training. A team of experts and coordinators has been deputed for the implementation of the project. The first two phases of the project has been launched in a successful manner. RSVY Training Sirsa The society is implementing this training project on various aspects in Dabwali, Distt. Sirsa, Haryana.
