Major Activities/Achievements : ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TRUST is set-up with a view to tap various issues and initiate research cum action oriented services into areas which help in attempting long term perspective and better insight into the shapes of events to unfold in several sphere of public activities. Thrust of the Trust is to focus different innovative research activities in social fields considering all socio-economic indicators. The Trust will be emerging as an inter-disciplinary research service provider with wide interest and capability in the area of opinion research, social research, communication research, market research, industrial research and allied related services. It will conduct several major assignments, which will benefit the general public. The Trust will further be an integral part of the economy and society, gathering and disseminating information on various topics. Thus any type of research with sound and scientific methodology fields high degree and development, are within the jurisdiction of this Trust.
The Economic Development Trust: Economic Development Trust (EDT) is an independent national level multi-disciplinary research facilitative body of eminent professionals registered with the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi under the Indian Trust Act, 1882 during the year 2004 and has been undertaking the task of E- readiness assessment of states and other projects during the preceding times with success. The Trust has a forte in economic and social research. Task of state assessment and ranking, based on e-readiness assessment is a qualitative and quantitative study, jointly promoted by DIT, Government of India and National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCAER), Delhi.
E-readiness is the ability of states to participate full-fledged in the national economic cycle.NCAER, the premier economic research body functioning with public-private partnership has entrusted Economic Development Trust to supplement the efforts in completing the task of e-readiness for states in India. The authentic, timely and relevant information and knowledge is converted into a national report which reaches a wide spectrum of people and provides immaculate information about IT capability of states. An assessment of the work is done and this forms the basis of ranking done by NCAER with the help of government professionals present on the editorial board of the aforesaid report. This e-readiness report is published by NCAER on behalf of DIT.

Besides the above, the aims and objects of the Trust for which the same is established are as under:-
(1) The aim is to work for the masses and the classes, vis-à-vis social research through dissemination and analysis of information. Economic data is utilized to help society climb up the social ladder.
(2) To work for rural and urban development; and also in an integrated manner for overall effective development of the economy.
(3) To render services to the women, children & youth of the country for their actual moral, social, economic, physiological rights including nourished health and up-bringing. Addressing issues of malnutrition, HIV/AIDS, female infanticide, economic stability and independence, micro financing for women, free elementary education for one and all, unemployment and task oriented teaching.
(4) To take up all developmental activities for the benefit of the people in different fields of life including market and industrial market studies/researches
(5) To cater to the requirements of computer technology and allied information science. To revolutionize the information technology boom in the grass-roots and dead-ends of society in rural and urban India.
(6)To receive financial and non-financial assistance from Government, non-government organizations, International Agencies, Bank and any other legal entity or individual and accept donations, grants, presents, gifts, and other offerings in the shape of movable /immovable properties for the attainment of the aims and objects of the Trust.
(7)The Trust may arrange, help to set-up medicals or hospitals and running them or granting of subscriptions and donations to various medical and other public institutions for administering medical relief to the needy.
