Apang Sewa Sanstha a registered charitable NGO the brain child of Mr G S Sandhu who returned to Mother Land after spending 18 years in England Switzerland Denmark Canada and United States Instead of perusing his Engineering Profession he instantly opted to follow his long cherished mission to SERVE THE SUFFERING HUMANITY He and some like minded friends decided to look after and bring up the differently abled children of the socially deprived impoverished and disadvantaged populace of the Tri city that is Chandigarh Mohali and PanchkulaAfter studying the social environment set up it was found that the average child on the street had enough talent but was suffering due to deficient opportunities It was further noticed that these children were frittering away their formative years doing mundane and or soul wrecking jobs It was decided to provide help and opportunities to these vulnerable children and that very decision gave instant birth to Apang Sewa Sanstha program to tap the inbuilt talent among the under privileged and deprived street children was started at the slum area of Ramdarbar Chandigarh Children were encouraged to perform on the stage which inculcated confidence in them despite their inbuilt inhibitions suppressions and taboosOur cultural and relief schemes over a short period have changed their lives in a signified way and have managed to bring out their blotted out natural endowments to light and now they have started to look beyond their books Within a very short time some of the learners have promoted themselves to performers and hence they were sent to Pracheen Kala Kendra Chandigarh for advance training These talented children of the slum areas do not need GOD FATHERS or SUPPORT SYSTEMS What they do need is a PUSH START and OPPORTUNITIES That is what we are endeavoring to provide them with our limited resources.
